About MP
In a single meeting there are many traditions represented, including Atheism, Baha’i, Christianity, Islam and many more. Launched in January 2009, this group has expanded from 3 to over 200 members primarily in the Chicagoland area, but also across the United States and as far as Beijing, China. Each conversation is loosely moderated with a proven collaboration technology and addresses a subject from the Seven Areas of Life (Spiritual, Intellectual, Social, Financial, Physical, Emotional & Vocational) — inviting conversation in the safe context of “no wrong answers.” The ground rules are simple: speak from your own place, add value to the conversation, and honor the value in others. It is an economy in which everyone holds stock, and everyone shares responsibility for increasing the value of the exchange. The expected outcome of each meeting is to walk away with a new level of understanding of others and yourself that you didn’t arrive with. The talks are passionate, revealing and educational all at once. There are moments of high tension and moments when the unity is almost tangible. We discover on a regular basis that our commonalities far outweigh our differences–but our differences are beautiful.
We value the power of intentional exchange and recognize the inherent value of every individual’s contribution to the conversation–spoken or unspoken, and is fueled by the desire to return that value by validating and celebrating the evolution and expression of the individual.
We value engagement when we invite connections between individuals and the world around them–and invite them to fall in love with changing the world again.
